The Farmington Valley Trails Council will hold its Annual Meeting on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 7:00 pm.  This year’s meeting will be presented via Zoom conferencing.

Our guest speaker this year is Shalin Desai. Shalin is the Vice President of Advancement at the Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC). In this role, he oversees ATC’s membership and development, communications, education and outreach, visitor services, and retail teams. He is a former operations consultant at McMaster-Carr and previously led market development efforts in Latin America and Asia-Pacific at Jetsetter and TripAdvisor.

He graduated from the University of Chicago in 2005, and previously sat on its alumni board. He also previously sat on the Executive Committee of the Appalachian Mountain Club, Worcester Chapter as programs chair and the Board of Directors of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy. He currently co-chairs the Communications Committee of the Recreate Responsibly Coalition. He completed thru-hikes of the Appalachian Trail and Long Trail in 2015, the Pacific Crest Trail in 2016, and the Oregon Coast Trail and Continental Divide Trail in 2017.
